Vecoton MF15S Bedside Terminal – Smart Ward Application Case in a Sino-Foreign Joint Venture Hospital
As China's healthcare sector opens further to international collaboration, Sino-foreign joint-venture hospitals have emerged as leaders in patient-centered care, combining global service standards with local clinical expertise. These institutions face a unique digital challenge, however: meeting strict JCI requirements for patient engagement and clinical workflow efficiency while integrating with domestic health information platforms. This case study examines a 500-bed joint-venture general hospital in a first-tier Chinese city, serving both domestic high-net-worth patients and international expats. Before its smart ward upgrade, the hospital's legacy ward infrastructure could no longer support its international service positioning. The hospital selected and deployed the Vecoton MF15S 15.6" Medical Bedside Terminal in patient room bedside and 10.1" MF10S as patient room bood board in the year of 2021, both models are powered by the Rockchip RK3399 six-core processor, to build a hospital-wide smart ward engagement platform.
Processor: Rockchip RK3399 (Dual-core Cortex-A72 + Quad-core Cortex-A53) — balanced performance and power efficiency for multitasking medical applicationsOS: Android 10/11 — open ecosystem for rapid integration of hospital-developed and third-party ISV applicationsDisplay: 15.6" IPS wide-view panel, 1920×1080 Full HD, G+G capacitive 10-point touch — operable with medical glovesAudio/Video: 5MP front camera with physical privacy shutter, dual-microphone array with noise cancellation, 2×3W speakers — supporting telehealth consultations and remote visitation
